A native of San Diego, Rev. Dr. Thomas Lee Sims and the Bride of his youth, Dr. Ethel E. Sims are very intentional and compassionate about their Kingdom Covenant.

Together, The Sims serve as Kingdom Ambassador-Christian Leaders and Family Advocates to combat the socio-economic disparities and to improve physical, mental, and spiritual poverty that diminishes the healthy development of children, youth, and families.

Rev. Thomas Lee Sims is a proud native of San Diego, CA. Outside of travels for business, ministry and vacations, his favorite staycation is in his hometown. But he also has an affinity for the Grambling, LA, the HomeTown of his wife, Ethel. They have been married for 42 years and their union gives them bragging rights for three adult children and four grandchildren. Thomas was licensed and ordained to preach his 1st Sermon at Bayview Baptist Church in San Diego where the late Rev. Dr. Timothy J. Winters was Senior Pastor. The first trial sermon, Man Cannot Live By Bread Alone took place on January 14, 1996. He served as the Founder, Church Planter and Senior Pastor of the Christ CornerStone Church from 2000-2016. The Sims Couple continues to serve together in the capacity as Urban Ministry Leaders for CornerStone Koenonia Connections and in various capacities. Affiliate Directors with CRU-Inner City San Diego. Pastor Sims is also a Certified Chaplain.

Dr. Ethel E. Sims is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has deep roots and close tie to her upbringing in the Deep South. She is a proud Alumni Daughter of Grambling State University. As an Independent Real Estate Broker, Entrepreneur-Evangelist, Author, Speaker, and Educator, Ethel considers herself as a life-long learner whether in the capacity as a teacher, facilitator, mentor, coach or trainer. She enjoys walking, traveling, reading, writing, and creating Décor Design spaces. She also enjoys spending time with her husband of over 40 years; family, friends, and clients. She is energetic, and engaging and has several eclectic hobbies: Cajun Cuisine, Gospel Music, Line Dancing, Praise Flags, and Prayer Fellowships and ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ Community Walkathons.

‘The Call to The Called’ is rooted in a faithful commitment as Servant-Leaders; intentionally pursuing The Cause for Christ; while cultivating faith, family, fellowship and relations in marriage, ministry, partnerships to build capacity and advance the Kingdom of God.

‘The Call Thee Called’ is the motivation behind the initial planting of the warm, welcoming, and wired, family-friendly, Christ CornerStone Church in the Golden Hill community of San Diego. After serving in their home church for 20 years – the same church family where they were wed in 1980 – God called and sent them out as the preliminary stages when Thomas answered his Call to Preach in 1996.
